We are a growing community that seeks to help people find and follow Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, connect and worship God together.  We do this by being a compassionate church, as we live on a mission to serve our communities and to show and tell thousands about the love and power of God.

Simply put: We want to build a community that will live the way that Jesus did and together Bring Life to Balham and Beyond.

We meet every Sunday at St.Mark’s Community Hall, 53 Rowfant Rd, SW17 7AP.

Fresh coffee, pastries and fruit served from 10.30am.

What to Expect

We have a relaxed informal feel to our services. We serve fresh coffee, tea and pastries from 10.30am and make the most of this time catching up and getting to know new people. We begin with a time of singing led by our band, followed by some stories, notices and a short break, after which there is a talk from the Bible and a time for prayer before we finish at around 12.30pm. Children and young people are especially welcome, and we run programmes for both groups.

After the Service

After the service, please make your way over to the Information Desk, where you can chat to some of our team grab a free Vineyard Worship CD, ask any questions you might have and discover other helpful information. You’ll also have time to grab another drink and any food that’s left over.

What’s On!!

Where the Miracles begin

Compassion is a high value for us. It is our belief that the church should be at the forefront of tackling the root causes of poverty and demonstrating care to the poor and vulnerable in our community.  We are inviting people to join us as we seek to demonstrate God’s love in as many different ways.

“BVC exists NOT to be the best church IN the community, but to be the best church FOR our community. We are inviting people to join us in Bringing LIFE to Balham and Beyond.”

Steve and Viv Bateman, Lead Pastors of BVC

Balham Job Club

  • Our Job Club is a friendly place where individuals get practical help whilst seeking employment. We offer group and 1-2-1 coaching sessions and computer skills to help support, guide and encourage people towards getting a job. Open on Mondays between 1-3pm (school term only). FREE lunch and refreshments provided.

ReStore Base

  • Our ReStore Base is just a few minutes walk from Balham Train Station and is a creative space in our community. We run courses and groups there, collect essential items for Refugees and it is our base for all our community projects, including #lovebalham and our Bike Hub project.

Bags of Blessings

  • This simple project gives practical items to homeless people, rough sleepers or vulnerable people in our community. This is not about one person trying to do a lot, but many of us each doing a little to make a big difference for our city. Bags are available after every Sunday. Bring an item to church, take a bag to give away.

Bike HUB

  • It’s simple and wheely good! We take second-hand bikes, store them so they can be repaired and fixed up. These are then donated to refugees and asylum seekers in London to help lower their transport costs. This is a partnership scheme with The Bike Project.

CAP Money Course

  • Is a free course that teaches budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. In just a few weeks, participants will get to grips with their finances, to help with budgeting, saving and preventing debt. These FREE courses are run throughout the year.

  • This is our regular time of acts of kindness and generosity in our community. Love looks like something!!   We’re encouraging everyone at Balham Vineyard, everyday to demonstrate love and compassion wherever they are, whether at work, rest or play.  For example, #40acts over Lent.

Healing on the Streets

  • Healing on the Streets is a simple, but beautiful way to reach out to the people of Balham who may never go to a church. It enables us to connect with our community, powerfully expressing God’s love whatever the weather!! We simply invite people to sit on chairs so we can pray for them for healing or whatever need they have. We are out every other Saturday at the Bedford Hill Place (opposite Starbucks) at 1.30-3.30pm.

  • We are delighted to be partnering with Samara’s Aid Appeal and local residents to provide and send clothing, medical supplies and emergency items direct to refugees in Calais, Syria and the Middle East.
